Meeting Recap: CFB Votes on Enforcement Matters, Matching Funds Payments

The NYC Campaign Finance Board (CFB) held a public meeting this morning to vote on enforcement matters for one campaign and conduct other business. A video recording of the meeting is available on the CFB's Youtube channel.

The Board determined that one campaign from the 2017 election cycle committed violations and assessed penalties for those violations. The Board also determined that the campaign is required to repay unused public funds. Refer to the table below for more details on these determinations.

7-09 Petitions for Public Funds Payments
The Board considered petitions filed by four candidates disputing non-payment of public funds. The Board voted to grant a petition filed by Charles Barron (2021), candidate for City Council District 42.

  • Michael Beltzer, candidate for Council District 18 (2021)
  • Bernadette Ferrara, candidate for Council District 15 (2021C)

In addition, the Board voted to ratify four prior determinations on 7-09 petitions. The Board ratified a determination to grant a petition filed by Badrun Khan (2021), candidate for City Council District 26.

Ratifying Public Funds Payments
The Board voted to ratify public funds payments issued on February 19, February 24, and February 25 to candidates in the 2021 election cycle and in the special elections in Council Districts 11, 15, and 31.
